Roberto Voerzio
Barbera d'Alba 'Il Cerreto'
Appellation: La Morra, ITALY
The same hills that fascinated Roberto Voerzio and inspired him to craft legendary Barolo also stirred his romantic notes - Barbera had to be grown with the same meticulous passion. This Barbera grown in the Ceretto vineyard, located in the surroundings of La Morra, receives the same low yield and slow fermentation on its lees as Voerzio's famed Barolos, coming out with surprising punch and character for an "everyday" wine.
This small production Barbera opens with concentrated aromas of black cherry, plum skin, blackberry, hints of mocha, warm leather, and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and polished, featuring deep savory fruit framed by creamy tannins, bright acidity, and a lingering mineral finish. Elegant yet powerful, it offers excellent depth and balance—ideal with hearty meats or rich pasta dishes.
